Welcome to the Archives

Long before Shaolin Temple was known for its martial arts, it was known as for its library. Before Bodhidharma brought his knowledge to his new disciples, the monks searched for enlightenment through their scholarship, transcribing scrolls, exploring and preserving the arts, sciences and philosopies of the time. While we have not been a part of the Temple for over 200 years, we still hold to the old belief that knowledge is power, that it is the truest gift, and the one thing which can not be taken from the recipient. May the works you find here add to your own luminance and lead you toward the completion of your own private journey.
